Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is transmitted directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us is retained as needed to answer it. We keep that correspondence within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive limited technical information when a visitor loads a page:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies, which are small files placed on a device, help measure how the site is used, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics providers combine that traffic information for reporting. Cookies can be blocked through browser controls, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
This site does not host, compile, sell, or maintain a database of court cases. It publishes routing information for Shelby County clerks, trial courts, and Texas search systems. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports, and this resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that partner's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its retention and disclosure practices, so review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Throughout the site we link to clerk of court pages, trial court portals, statewide case-search systems, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Clicking any of those links takes you off our site. At that point, their privacy policy governs your visit. Read it before sharing any personal details.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used for information we collect. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed secure, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor provided such information, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Texas consumer-protection law may provide rights that depend on the facts and the user's residence. The Texas Public Information Act governs public information requests to covered bodies but does not turn this private site into a court-record custodian. You can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any revision will be posted here with a new effective date, so visitors should review the page periodically for current practices.
Effective date: September 7, 2026
